THE UNSINKABLE WALKER BEAN When I was in middleschool, I wandered to my english teacher's 'library' section and pawed at the revolving rack of colorful books. I picked up a book for a reason I don't remember why, called 'The Unsinkable Walker Bean.' Little did I know that this book would singlehandedly change the course of my life. All of my love for, and motivation to, read and write graphic novels spawned from reading this book over and over and over again. Pouring over every panel and taking careful notes of how they illustrated it. I am still influenced by this book's artstyle to this very day. You should read it.
